Executive Coaching in Clovis & Fresno
When You're the One at the Top
You built the company, or you were handed the keys to it. Either way, the hardest calls now land with you. Who to hire, who to let go, where to put the money, whether the plan still makes sense. Your team brings you problems. Your family wants more of you. And there aren't many people you can think out loud with, because almost everyone around you has a stake in the answer.
That pressure doesn't show up on a balance sheet, but it shapes everything. Decisions get pushed off. Meetings run long. You end up doing work you should have handed off years ago because it's easier than explaining it. Most leaders in that spot are working plenty hard. The trouble is that the business has outgrown the way they lead.
What Executive Coaching Is
Executive coaching at Trail to Summit is one-on-one time for the person at the top: the owner, president, CEO or executive director. It's a confidential place to sort out what's really going on, decide what matters most, and change how you lead so the business doesn't depend on you for everything.
We use an ontological approach. In plain terms, we look at how you see your situation, what you say to your team and to yourself, and how you show up when things get hard. Those shape what your company does far more than another plan or tool. When the leader shifts, the team usually follows.
What We Work On
Every engagement is built around what you bring, but these come up often:
- Decisions only you can make, and the ones you've been putting off
- Letting go of work that keeps pulling you back in
- Building a leadership team that owns results instead of waiting on you
- Hard conversations with partners, family in the business, or key employees
- Getting your time back so you can work on the business, not just in it
- Leading through growth, a rough season, or a big change
How It Works
Talk. A free 30-minute call about where you are and what you want to be different. No pitch.
Plan. We pick the one or two priorities that matter most right now and the format that fits: a single 90-minute session or a 6-session plan.
Climb. We meet one-on-one, usually weekly or every other week, at our office in Old Town Clovis or by video. Between sessions you put things into practice, and we track what's changing so progress sticks.
Executive Coaching or Leadership Coaching?
Leadership coaching (on our Business page) is about growing the leaders around you: managers, supervisors, the people you're counting on to carry more. Executive coaching is about you. If you're not sure which one you need, that's a good thing to sort out on the free call.
About Shawn
Shawn Meyer has started three businesses and four nonprofits here in the Central Valley, and he's coached more than 21 leaders through seasons of growth and change. He knows what it's like to be the person everyone looks to for the answer, and how lonely that can get. He works with owners and executive directors of organizations with 5 to 50 people, from Clovis and Fresno to the surrounding towns.

Questions Leaders Ask
Who is executive coaching for? Owners, presidents, CEOs and executive directors of organizations with roughly 5 to 50 people. If the big decisions land on your desk, it's for you.
Is what I share confidential? Yes. What you talk about in coaching stays between you and Shawn. That's a big part of why it works.
How is this different from consulting? Coaching works on you: how you think, decide and lead. Consulting works on the business itself, like structure, systems and strategy, and we stay to help put the changes in place. Many owners need a bit of both, and we'll be honest about which comes first.
How long does it take? Some leaders get what they need from a single 90-minute session. Most see lasting change over a 6-session plan, and some keep going longer. We'll talk about what fits on the free call.
Where do sessions happen? In person at our office at 516 5th St, Suite 203, in Old Town Clovis, or by video wherever you are.
What happens on the free call? We spend 30 minutes on what's going on and what you'd like to change. You'll leave with at least one clear next step. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.

A short action plan by email within 48 hours, with your next steps in order

A plan for what to work on between sessions, and accountability to follow through
Progress check-ins so each session builds on the last
